The Guild will celebrate its first decade of existence this coming May. Not too bad considering that it began with three people doing a ritual to create a support egregore. On a face to face basis there are quite a lot of us now. The majority of the membership lives in Portland, Oregon and there is another group of us in Southern California. For the last few years becoming a member has been accomplished by attending the "Path of the Adept" class (POTA). As the membership is eclectic so far as magickal paths are concerned the class gives us a basis of commonality. The one thing that hasn't changed much since the beginning is that we are still a support group.

Re: Anniversary
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 11:28 AMAs usual our biggest challenge will be transportation from Portland to the hill. We need to begin addressing that very soon. In these days of high fuel prices car pooling and splitting the cost among passengers makes a lot of sense. Also, it might help to let folks know that this event has always been "family friendly". -

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 3:39 PMSays you! I'm still not sure what season it is! Hope springs eternal and all that! Remember, Ms. Ravenwood, it snowed two days before Beltane. However! Mt. Hood Meadows FINALLY closed yesterday, so maybe someone knows something!
Seriously folks, this is the tenth anniversary, so let's get everyone together and make it a big one!

Re: Anniversary
Fri, June 20, 2008 - 10:14 PMI have made more long lasting relationships, that have effected my daily magical work from joining this guild, than I can comment on in one posting. Hello to you who I know AND who I do not. Some of the best group work I've done has been a result of exposure to The Guilds ideas. I am happy to say hello to all of you still working at this pursuit.

Re: Anniversary
Sat, July 12, 2008 - 9:27 AMHi Solbehlas,
Your best opportunity to meet some of us would be to drop by "Essential Elements", 3135 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland. That is where we hold a monthly meetup which is posted on the calendar in the store.
Some things to consider... We are a pretty pragmatic group in our way. Our non-hierarchal approach means that to a large degree we have removed the "authority" of a formal position from the equation and have attempted to replace that with "lead by example." This is probably a bit tougher than most folks might think it would be, but to date it has worked fairly well for us. Another thing is that we practice teamwork and are mission oriented. It's amazing how much we get done by doing this. I could go on, but like a lot of things one needs to experience how this works to really appreciate it. -
